Goal Setting for the New Year

It seems like everyone I’ve talked to lately is gearing up for 2009 by setting some goals, both personal and business. I’ve already started my working on one of my personal goals of getting my home and my schedule organized with the help of Krista Colvin’s Whole SheBang. And a few months ago, I wrote a blog post at Advantage Virtual Assistant about some of the tools to help you out.

This one is my favorite: Alice Seba’s Free Planning Calendar which you can download from her “Spring Cleaning for Maximum Profits” site. I just printed mine out and will spend the next week using it to set my goals and make plans for achieving those goals.

It’s a no-strings-attached download but while you’re there, I recommend signing up for Alice’s “Spring Cleaning” coaching series which is the basis for her planning system. I’ve made it no secret that I really admire Alice Seba and I’ve benefited from a lot of her products including  Copywriting Sweetie Course and Press Release Profits Course so I am completely confident in recommending her.

By the way, if you’re thinking about outsourcing some of your work in 2009, sign up for a trial membership to her Outsourcing Sweetie program too. (If you’re a virtual assistant, you can benefit from this program too!)

What are some of your personal and professional goals for 2009? Which do you think will be the most challenging?

    Tara, your blog looks fantastic!

My biggest and most challenging goal for 2009 is the revamping of my own VA business. I’ve connected with so many wonderful and experienced virtual business owners at VAnetworking, and they’ve inspired me to really push myself and dream big. 2009 is going to be a fantastic year!

My other big goal is to add a lot of valuable resources to the WAHM Articles Forum. I have so many ideas for that site, I just need to make the time to sit down and get them all on paper!

Hope you have an awesome 2009!

Great blog, April! Such a thought provoking topic, too. I feel my business evolving into some new directions (good ones) and think that goals for both personal and professional are definitely on the horizon. Maintaining the balance between work and family is always a goal that takes careful planning so that would probably be my biggest on-going goal with definitely pay-offs. (It’s too easy to get caught up in the deadlines of business.)
