I’m on a mission

Now that my business and writing is gaining some momentum, I’m realizing 2 things: 1) I have to change some plans and rearrange my schedule and 2) my domestic life is suffering.

Luckily, I won a free VIP membership to Krista Colvin’sThe Whole SheBang‘ which gives me access to all kinds of organizing projects, resources and discounts.

I planned on getting my first 3 ‘SheBang 101′ projects done this week but yet another bout of bronchitis has put me behind so I got my first project done today and I’m hoping to get the other 2 done this weekend.

Now why should you care about any of this? Two reasons:

You get to follow along with me and watch as I document the process. I’m tellin’ ya, its so bad I don’t even have the balls to post a “before” shot of my desk, my kitchen, my closets, etc. But each month, Krista and her expert guests help the VIP members tackle a big project plus Krista makes sure that we’re maintaining our day-to-day stuff along with the previous projects. Since I’m just starting, you’ll get to pity watch me try to sort out the chaos of my life and my house. (And you can also use this as a chance to feel better about yourself and be glad that your stuff isn’t nearly as bad as mine.)

You get the chance to win your own free VIP membership to The Whole She Bang. And since Krista offered to share an extra membership with me to either give to a BFF or to one of my readers, I guess that means whichever reader wins it gets to be my BFF. Bonus!!

So here’s what you gotta do:

Leave me a comment letting me know what your biggest obstacle is when it comes to organizing your home, your business, or your life.

Convince me you need this. Leave a comment on a post at The Whole SheBang letting Krista know you’re trying to win a membership from my giveaway. Send me a reply on Twitter telling me you really wanna win (and include a link, of course.) Add Krista on Twitter and tell her what you love about it. Tell your friends about it on your own blog.

Of course, all of those things in that last paragraph or optional. Bribes and other creative forms of sucking up will be accepted. Leaving a comment is the only requirement for this giveaway.

I’ll leave this open through 10 PM Central on Dec 23rd so I can pick a winner in time for Christmas.

Good luck!

Although I am quite organized in many aspects of my life, I can’t seem to get my kiddos to keep their rooms clean.

I would love to read other options other than taking the gas leaf blower to their rooms. There are times I can’t see the floor. Now that truly upsets me because I am a NEAT freak and try to keep my house organized. However, it does not seem to be rubbing off on my kids. I have 5 and although the oldest is somewhat cleaner, now…her room is still classified the ‘black hole’ because whenever something goes in there it will take months to find.

If this membership could shed some light in organizing the kids rooms, my life would be less stressful:)

My house is chaos. It kinda always has been. I can never really figure out a system that works to get out of the chaos, and more importantly, stay out of the chaos. I’ll be out of the chaos for awhile, but then it creeps back in, and it overwhelms me all over again.

I work at home, and have for quite some time, and I’m working to expand from transcription into Virtual Assisting, but I know that I have to get organized to help that along. So a membership to The Whole SheBang would help me tremendously in that way!

Oh dear. I can’t even tell you how much of a mess my house has become. My biggest problem is that cleaning requires physical movement and energy that I just don’t have, especially in the winter, but then I get depressed when I see the mess, especially knowing that I can’t do anything about it (unless I’d like to hurt more for the next three days). I wonder if there are any cleaning tips for people with chronic pain/illnesses in this plan?

In any case, if I do win, I know my support system will put this to good use! (I’ve got one who is kind of a clean freak, and one who tends to “forget” to put things back, like bowls and boxes of cereal, and spoons, and forks, and plates, and…. you get the idea. :) )

Oh my gosh. Just one thing? Trying to keep hubby happy while I take on more and more with Social Networking media, my own blog, my sewing busines.. oh yeah the KIDS!! Let’s see, laundry, the dishes kill me, carving out time to watch the only show on my DVR (it’s House if you were wondering), oh yeah– neighbor just had a baby so I really should be taking her dinner and having her older two kids over for playdates every so often, then there’s volunteering at kids’ school … oh and ME! Can I fit in some gym time?

    Aaaahhhhh!

hi April! I’m looking forward to helping you + your readers get it together… and keep it together.

I promise I’m not scary… more like the girlfriend, the honest girlfriend, that tells you to snap out of it… or that those pants really do make your butt look a litter bigger than you prefer ;)

    cheers! krista

My biggest obstacle is staying focused on any one project lately. With online biz, offline biz and the family my brain never seems to fully connect to anyone aspect while I’m working on it. I know if I had an action plan I could get so much more accomplished and not have to play catch-up with the laundry so much. lol

Thanks for taking one of us on the organization ride with you!

I am trying to no avail to get my house and life organized! I have tried other programs and actually checked into Shebang-but am a WAHM with no extra in my budget. I used to be extra organized and sonewhere along the way I lost it and am desperate to get it back. It is sohard to regroup once things have gotten in such disarray. I NEED HELP!!

    Hi Tara
Whoa – i won’t even mention my house!
But I see ur totally on top of this theme ‘wasteland”
Wondered if you could give some advice??
I’m a noobie. Liked the theme.
But i can’t get anything into the right column like where you’ve got “April’s sites” & “recommendations”. I want to be able to add pics & links etc…like you have!
Also, I want to show “categories” like you are.
As well, how did you do the header “April Tara, the online adventures…”
    It looks awesome April!
    Thanks Keven
